more on the social media – a la mewe

Others that have repeatedly invaded my sweet dog group en masse on MeWe, they just can’t seem to help it:

— Asian soft-porn spammers aiming at men

— men from all over the world using a dog-lovers group to harass women

— “gun people” who use a dog group to brag about their concealed carrys

— dog breeders, especially if “bullies” is part of the “business” name. Saying “adopt don’t shop” or “puppy mill” will cause them to melt TF down.

— promoters of reputation-troubled businesses, things like oils, life coaching, MLM (mulit-level marketing).

When I see signs of these, I get hair-trigger on the boot button. Sometimes I have made mistakes.

social media management

I’m amused when somebody friends me on MeWe because I manage a group they are in, which makes my personal posts appear on their timeline, then they see one of my LGBT posts go by, so they unfriend me but stay in the group. I then mentally mark them for scrutiny. 🙂 👢

When people unfriend for that reason, I just call it “trash that takes itself out”. Friend requests that come in without some lead up are usually rubbish anyway. 🗑

google plus to mewe import

MeWe imported 4516 posts of mine from Google Plus (G+). I think the other 982 were posts that were non-public.

I didn’t realize that I had so many. I do social media posting, in part, as therapy for myself. I guess I’ve needed a lot of therapy.

move your G+ to MeWe

Being a G+ (Google Plus) nutcase for years, I am pleased that there will be a way to move the data (to MeWe).

When My Opera community closed years ago, I was thankful that WordPress picked up that import.

where to go?

Still deciding where to go with G+ closing next year. I was a long-term fan of the My Opera Community. It closed years ago, so I primarily went to Google Plus. Now it’s going away. Facebook makes me too sad. I recently deleted all my posts and just sometimes lurk now.

Wharrr to go?

– MeWe
– VK
– Twitter
– WordPress

Some combination, maybe.

more MeWe lunkheadedness

I’m beginning to think that MeWe leadership is lunkhead city. Do I trust this network?

Ethnicity and sexuality (and even religion for some) are preferences? Oh, brother.

MeWe also believes Russia done it – omfg

WTF! Mark Weinstein of MeWe is playing that ludicrous Russia card, too! I think this company of theirs is not grounded in reality. This is not his first time playing that crying violin about Russia. He must have inside information that nobody else has been able to find.

I also saw MeWe on Twitter bashing a competitor with decent intentions, Ello, by saying it was hype, and nothing more.

I hate to see that social network being run with a childish attitude. It makes me think the whole operation is a crock. MeWe’s claim to greatness is several awards that nobody has ever heard of. Also, I don’t see a revenue model there. None of the paid services that are said to float the boat are worth paying for.

Mark Weinstein – Admin (16 June 2018):

Awesome MeWe members,

If you have a quick 6 minutes, please enjoy this video of my BBC interview in Europe this week. Flew to London for the interview, which was broadcast live from their studios throughout Europe.

MeWe is receiving worldwide recognition as the true competitor to Facebook – and of course MeWe is BETTER! MeWe has No ads, No spyware, No BS, No content manipulation, and No Russians paying to show you fake news. We’re here to serve you, not sell your data.

With MeWe, you see everything from your friends and groups in true timeline order. There’s nothing messing with your politics or tricking you into clicking on ads. Available worldwide in 8 languages, MeWe is social done right.

Cheers everyone – please share this interview with your friends and on any of your other social channels too. This is our time.
