It’s everywhere! 😱 I need to watch some more movies about nuclear winter. ☃️
Coming home from work on Friday, on car radio NPR was going on about “multiple foreign actors” being involved in Havana Syndrome without saying who those actors were. Those US officials suffered so much from it.
Today I see NC Policy Watch reporting that the fuel pipeline companies want an entire government agency and additional powers to protect against more Russian hacking of the pipeline controls like happened last summer that caused fuel shortages. The Russian hacking was reported as flat fact.
The Mozila/Firefox newsletter and blog had many articles over the past year about how their software keeps you safe from Russian hackers. Yep, that really ups my trust in that organization’s motivations and security. They can keep me safe from phantoms.
Protonmail gave support to opposition groups in Hong Kong last year. Yep, another trust builder for that company. No, it’s the same position as the US government which makes it suspect.
Firefox Browser rolled out beta version 96 today (v96.0b2). The UI and tabs are especially beautiful. Love it! Get the betas for desktop and mobile. I’ve never had any trouble with them.
I am also very fond of the Vivaldi browser for desktop and mobile. I get the stable releases. The snapshot (beta) releases are more beta than Firefox’s and sometimes give trouble. If you’re into testing that, all is well, but I like to stay stable with Vivaldi.
Mobiles are in the Play Store for both on Android.
I enjoyed doing the Firefox Test Pilot experiments due to my fondness for Firefox. Yesterday, a survey was sent down relating to news feeds. One question required picking a political affiliation. There were only two choices, Democrat and Republican, and the question was required, meaning that I could not complete the survey without answering. F**! that. I’m off the program. 😜
I will continue with Firefox as always. I just won’t do the Test Pilot anymore. By the way, I also love the Vivaldi browser and am looking forward to a mobile edition.
Hopefully participants outside of the USA were not bothered by this fun “survey”.
