good list

That’s a crazy as hell list right there. Do not attempt at home.

white house kwanzaa

Now that the POTUS and the FLOTUS have done Kwanzaa, I can now say that I have had a full life. 😂

dehydrated tomatoes

Tomatoes from that cheap food dehydrator I bought for myself recently. Better than I thought they would be.

I should get a Bass-o-Matic to go with the dehydrator.

orange crush

It’s a good night for a giant vodka cocktail that’ll knock ya right out. Medicinal.

Recipe is Orange Crush from the handy Drinkable app. It’s supposed to be shot glass size, but I just up the quantities and make it a tumbler.

lipton iced tea

Such an ordinary brand, but it’s the one my mother always used, and her iced tea was really good, so I continue to buy. It’s the time of the year when these little memories become so important.

Fixing the iced tea for the big lunch.

christmas tree light tradition

Things spouses say to each other. 😃

Since I was a child, a family tradidtion was to leave the Christmas tree lights on all night from Christmas Eve night into Christmas day. No particular reason for it, but I liked it so I always continued it.

Last night spouse forgets and turns off the lights at bedtime, so that left it wide open for me to sigh and say, “another family tradition MERCILESSLY shat upon!” 😂

All I had to do was walk over to the switch and turn them back on. 😈

It’s all done in fun. It really is! ❤️

small kitchen electrics

Thinking of Ron Popeil and Ronco, though I’d never buy that Showtime rotisserie he advertised. It looked messy and uncleanable.

I enjoy countertop electrics, those “electrodomésticos.” I have three slow cookers (Crock Pots) of various sizes, a toaster oven, blender, a “Foreman” grill, waffle maker, etc.

Each one designed to perform some specific miracle.

I bought a cheap (starter model, I guess) food dehydrator as a holiday gift to myself a few days ago. I want to see if I like it. I travel a lot for work and could use the snacks that can supposedly be made in one of these.

This cheap dehydrator arrived yesterday afternoon, and I immediately set out on a test run with bananas.

I didn’t realize that it can take a long time to get some things dry, and in the case of bananas, crispy. Maybe these banana chips will end up costing $400 in electricity.

The included book said some things can take 38 hours. ⚡😱

z’s “what i want for christmas” visit

Media so lacking in details that I cannot find out if one creep visiting another creep in DC has wrapped it up yet.

After numerous searches, I finally found out it was a less than 12-hour visit, so thankfully it’s over.

pistachios

I scored a 20 oz (567 g) bag of roasted pistachios the other day at a good price. Once I start eating them, stopping is difficult.

Mountains of shells are forming.

barely adequate winter headgear

With the cold nights coming up, I looked for possible headgear.

The choices are:

— a couple of “newsboy” caps from Italy. Is that strange?
— a Che/Castro red-star cap from Cuba
— my warmest full-size Gap cap is missing. Still looking.

One of them will warm my heart the most, but all will do.
