Brian got me a pair of trekking poles as a Christmas gift.
Age-related knee pain had reduced my range and comfort to the point to where hiking was barely possible. There was always anxiety that I would get too far out and not be able to return.
The trekking poles are more helpful than I ever expected. It’s like a reset of years. The little bit of effort saved per step really adds up. I can now go on a hike and still do other things in the same day.
I am aware that there can be environmental impact with these. I’m reading up on how to minimize.
Cycling remains being a good activity due to low impact. It is nice to be able to walk and hike again, too.

Why TF are “Occupy Democrats” and “Ridin’ With Biden” shambling down my FB newsfeed? Sick.
Yeah. 🍻

A bag of Christmas tamales, a gift from some beloved friends, was dropped off yesterday, so we had them for breakfast. They go well with coffee. I could live off of those things.

The latest bag of coffee I bought at Starbucks is so good that I can’t stop drinking it. I keep going until I’m a shaking mess. I’m flirtin’ with disaster.

All take home bagged coffee on sale at the Bux until the end of this week. I bought some as gifts plus a couple of drinks for me and Brian. I like the timing of this sale.
They have the right kind of grinder in the store, so if you want it ground, they’ll grind it perfectly for whatever device you use to brew.
I used to grind at home, but now I don’t feel like it anymore. It’s a bit laborious to do it right.
