recent democrat statement on diplomacy

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.):

“Because of the timing, our message is being conflated by some as being equivalent to the recent statement by Republican Leader McCarthy threatening an end to aid to Ukraine if Republicans take over.”

To me, that sounds like complete capitulation by Democrats in upcoming elections. I don’t vote for Republicans, but I will not consider voting for Democrats for any reason for as long as I may live. I started cutting down on them in 2003, now it’s down to never again.

Good golly that statement pisses me off. What a dangerous, tepid, bunch of wankers.

nut casery

The cloud-based nut_casery folder has reopened for the next election season.

There are a lot more than 43 folders. I just haven’t moved the Google drive over to this one yet. Trying to cut down on the Google.

There’s really good stuff in there. Lots of screenshots. Many things.

hillary and biden

I was joking around at work one day with a fairly right-wing Republican guy, and it got quite funny.

It got down to, if you had to choose between Hillary and Biden, which one would you prefer?

He said, “Hillary in a heartbeat over that thing we have now. At least when Hillary says something, I can understand what she’s talking about.”

I thought it was funny to hear him say it. I can see it.

inflation

There’s a surreal definition of inflation going around on social media (Facebook mostly) that had to have been written by the White House itself, and everybody is sharing that thing like they really believe it.

I’m not even going to engage. I can’t work with things like that.

yo voté

Cuando YO VOTÉ
(when I voted)

I should have been humming this Puerto Rican reggaeton…

De mi vida TE BOTÉ, yo te boté, yeh, yeh, mami

(I dumped you, I dumped you, yeah yeah mami)

~~

I’m struggling here to put a post together at all cost. I mean it rhymes a little (voté, boté), and I was rasslin’ with some anger management issues in the voting booth. 😂

It’s a stretch, even for my usual junk posting. In my head, anything can be linked together.

I’m not really that much into Puerto Rican reggaeton, but it was playing in the background when I was watching a very fun video one time.

masking

I was recently tasked with asking people to mask up at an event. I think it’s more than time for that to end, but I always put one on when asked.

I was treated like an ogre by someone just for being there. No “hello” or “long time no see,” just a painful deep breath and “Do we REALLY have to put on a mask. We were somewhere else earlier and didn’t have to wear one.”

They walked in without.

Coincidentally it was one of those who was a harpy at the start of Covid, griping at everyone who wasn’t immediately happy about masking or who wore them incorrectly.

When they decided it was time, it was time, I guess. I felt totally disrespected.

midnight at the oasis (song)

Midnight at the Oasis (1974) – Maria Muldaur

This used to play on the school bus every morning on the way to jr high. The driver had a boombox in the front of the bus. A radio was not an approved device on the bus. That made it more fun.

We were all 13 to 15 years old, and we all knew the song was about a hot desert love affair.

ussr camera

I just won this sweet Soviet USSR film camera on eBay. From the etching on the front bezel, it looks to be a 1980 Summer Olympic games edition. I hope somebody was there taking pictures with it.

I always thought the Soviet-era cameras were pretty. ❤️

Not much of the 1980 Moscow games was carried on US television, but I happened to be in Guadalajara that summer and watched a helluva lot of it on Mexican TV. It was carried in full, there.
