i can’t see your newsletter

There’s a favorite digital newsletter I receive which used to come in text-copyable PDF but has switched to a “presenter” called Canva.

In this new format, I cannot enlarge the text to accommodate my vision or save it locally for preservation and future study.

Also, the presenter sometimes leaves text missing off the page breaks or has it hidden under the images.

I so wish that organizations would stop using a “helper” service for everything and just stay simple.

hex

Inkem binkem notamus rex, protect us all from the man with the hex.

diesel wabbit

Decades ago I drove a VW Rabbit Diesel with a half-blown engine. Back in those days, Diesel cars were exempt from emissions testing.

I would pull into the inspection station in that clattering smoking mess, they’d slap on a sticker, and I’d be in and out in no time.

The gasoline car drivers would all be looking at me and scowling, like “fuck that” written all over their faces.

hotel room overlooks graveyard

Tombstones right outside my hotel room window. ⚰️

Things like that don’t bother me a bit. If the weather was good, I could sleep contentedly IN the graveyard.

Bought it in Cuba, too!

me at 16 with mom at the canyon

Me, age 16, and my mother. My mom. ❤️

That boy felt FUNNY inside, but he was pretty quiet about it for a few more years. Heck, I knew well before 16.

My brother had already started the “I know you have a secret” stuff. A few years later, I could say the same back to him. 😁

Looking at the pics, I think that I may as well have hung a sign around my neck, but these pics were the exception. I usually looked ready to ride a Harley. uh huh, lol. I preferred Yamahas and Suzukis. Must have been part of the problem.
