i think my facebook jailing has become permanent

I was having a Facebook addiction that I wanted to tame, then this current popular beloved-by-many war starts up. My friends turn into 24-hour compulsive clickmonkeys of propaganda, mostly NPR, CNN, and a few others. My timeline filled up with it.

It maxed me out mentally, plus I wanted to walk away from years of my embarrassing profile on Facebook, so I did the delete procedure. It takes Facebook 30 days to “start” (per them) the deletion process.

I wait five weeks and decide I would like to go back with a limited low-key snooper profile to keep an eye on a few things. It’s impossible. Trying to vary the registration information after the first two tries failed didn’t work. FB picks up on it and blocks me. My latest attempt worked for days before getting the block message.

Either it is prohibited to ever return with a new profile, or somebody is reporting me for something bogus. FB’s review team is so low quality that blocks rarely get overturned for any reason. I’ll see.

Anyway, I guess I can never go back. That’s OK. I can find other things to do. I’ll miss some of the locals.

phonetics

I took a semester of phonetics ages ago to improve my Spanish. I really got into it and enjoyed it. It made me sound like a pro. I thought it was a load of fun.

I began to think that I could use similar techniques to purge the southern accent from my English. That worked, too. I could talk flat general-American English just like some newscasters.

Then, after I stopped worrying about it for a while, the southern accent came back with tremendous intensity, greater than before.

I should have just left it alone. 😆

for movie night

At least I learned about green-screen videos this year. I want to try to make some of those.

quality journalism

That time a friend of mine said they believed it was important to pay for quality journalism, so they subscribed to the New York Times.

My intestines turned to ice water.

long-distance love of humans, well some

A person I encountered at work today was rather surprised when I pronounced their “foreign” name correctly.

It was partly luck, partly knowledge, but I’ve always had an interest in the entire globe. I had a shortwave radio as a child so I could hear the whole world. 🌐📻🎙️

It turned into a lifelong thing.

Brian played clarinet and ocarina today at Centenary United Methodist Church.

Nice place. The current location dates back to 1969. We both felt fully welcome.
