As Opera continues to treat its fans like dirt, the My Opera meltdown seems way ahead of schedule. I have been trying to get a backup of a blog for four days now. No go.
An Opera logo dartboard might be in order at this point, but I don’t want to see the red “O” in my house anymore.
How are they treating their fans like dirt? I haven’t been keeping up with the latest.
I’m just trying to whip up some operahate. lol.
*gasp* YOU’RE the firestarter!
Twisted firestarter.
That’s a badge of honor, though I will probably get arrested now by the department of pre-crime.
Yeah, I had that problem as a teenager. Always having to wash the sheets before… Hold on, I think I need my glasses to read that again.
It’s amazing how easily things came out back then. Now it’s like trying to crank a 1960’s Chrysler on a cold day.
Diddle-iddle-iddle-iddle ay ay ay…
Dave, I was just looking through my blog (trippy exerpience!). Is there an easy way to download the whole thing and then just keep what you want?
Naomi!
You can pack up your blog at myopera into a zip file. I don’t know about selectively keeping parts of it. I looked for an “.xml” file from myopera which I used to import over to here. The myopera export tool works off and on now. Sometimes it makes the file for me, sometimes it fails. Things are already into high neglect over there.
Anyway, some links:

Thanks, Dave. Will have to see if I can figure it out. Seems lots of us have migrated over here. 🙂
Yeah, I think WordPress will be suitable for many from myopera.
Some are also going to Vivaldi.net
https://vivaldi.net/
I think Vivaldi might be underpowered for your needs at this time, though it’s nice and will serve many well. WordPress seems like it will be perfect for the galleries of your art. WordPress also has some permanence already. Vivaldi is untested.
Yeah, I think either Richard (Musickna) mentioned Vivaldi. I’m good here, but thanks.
I checked back on MyOpera today. A few of my friends are still making blog posts. Man, they should follow us over here!
I just made a new blog myself, but you’ll need to log in to My Opera one last time to see the announcement. Not coming over to WordPress.com, sorry. Guess I should, but meh. It’s just not what I want right now.
I’ll look for you, Felix. 🙂
