  2. :wizard: Love it!

  3. coollll:)

  4. Cancun is a nice place. Many people say it is not the real Mexico, but there are people there from all parts of Mexico, so it must be real in a way. It's a wild and crazy 24-hour tourist destination, but much of the downtown (versus the hotel zone) is as nice and normal as anywhere. I like it a lot.

  5. i lived between Cancun and Playa del Carmen the first half of this year and I can tell is really a fantastic place as many other places in Mexico :),Is great you like it too, maybe the bad news people see on tv could tell other things and show other face of Mexico but believe me ,in my case I have 25 years living in Mexico – now I returned to Mexico City – And never happened something bad here,we have a lot of troubles but beyond this I think not all is bad as many people say in other countries.Regards!!! πŸ™‚

I probably blew through there on a "Flecha Amarilla" one time. πŸ˜† I can't remember. Is that where there are a lot of retired gringos? I think I was there for a day once returning to Guadalajara from Guanajuato. I was trying to track down a gringo English teacher friend.I actually gave up the bus travel years ago (those Flechas, ADO, O de M, etc.) I don't make a lot of money, but as I've gotten older, I have enough to rent cars now instead of taking the buses. Mexico has the nicest long-distance buses in the world, but I'll take a rented Chevy with A/C any time I can afford it.Abrazo muy fuerte for you, too!

I've been by Playa del Carmen many times on the highway though have never stopped. The traffic has gotten to be amazing between there and Cancun.I think big tourist places like Cancun will always be OK, as well as "el DF", Guadalajara, Merida, etc. Driving deeply around the Yucatan, there are sometimes some slightly weird military checkpoints, though I've never gotten more than a few quick questions from them.I used to go to the border sometimes, but I think I'm going to leave that alone for awhile. There are so many places I love in Mexico. My first love there was Guadalajara, and I think I'll always have a great fondness for it. It's so big, so bad, so chic, so cosmopolitan, so exciting.  Like the USA, Mexico is big, and you can travel in it for a lifetime. I hope to be able to.I can brag about Mexico forever and ever. πŸ˜€ Thanks for the nice comment David.

  8. wow sounds great your experience πŸ˜› ,I see you have been in many places!! that's fantastic!,I guess you have to go to a little town called San Miguel de Allende … is "nearby " Guadalajara ,is a very nice place to visit – as many others – really great!!! Welcome to Mexico ,send you a big hug friend.David.

hehe. I've heard those stories about FA. I've seen them pull into the left lane and pass a line of trucks on the highway at high speed. The one time I took a Flecha, they had just introduced their 1st class service, and it was actually quite nice. Usually I would have used another company, but there weren't any other options at that time.Originally posted by DavidRosas:

It's my favorite place to be.  mas y mas abrazos

  11. Let me share with you my experience (and the only one ) With FA … When i was Kid mom and I traveled from Mex City to a little town nearby Guadalajara ,first we took one bus from Mex to Leon and then another to this town with FA …. 3rd class because only FA had that destiny at that hour, the rest is history! Chickens at the bus, many people standing up all the travel with their animals while bus were running through all little towns pickin up more passengers like an urban bus!! ,no air and of course a lot of hot inside the bus … I arrived almost dead!!!!:) but anyway I'm still alive LOL :S

  12. lol. Good story. Also good you're still alive. I think I heard someone say that Flecha's company motto should be, "mas vale llegar muerto que tarde." I think that's how it went.'Nother bus story. I took a Tres Estrellas do Oro one time, and there was a employee on there who had a function like a flight attendant on an airplane. As the passengers boarded, each got a little snack pack that included a sandwich and a can of Coke. I'd never seen anything like that before.

  13. Almost in all the bus lines give you a little snack pack with your sandwich and your soda,or your coffee anyway is funny the story with the weird earth – flight attendent :S haha ,anything can happen here!!!!!!!!!!!! is a crazy country . . . but is funny πŸ™‚
