mad world

Mad World. Michael Andrews and Gary Jules from the soundtrack to the movie Donnie Darko.

I edited the lyrics down a little. They sure are sad. The piano accompaniment is haunting, as is the movie. I first heard this version of "Mad World" during a station break from the folks at Democracy Now as they were covering that haunting war.

You can hear the tune playing lightly in the background as I taped my dog doing nothing. 🙄

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere.
The tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

Hello teacher tell me whats my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles its a very very
Mad World
