linux mint web apps

I know little of what I do, but running Twitter and Facebook as web apps on Linux Mint works well. Use Vivaldi browser to have the separate profile option.

— opens right up into the site all logged in
— isolated profiles
— no cookie mixing

A big one is that it solves Twitter’s compulsive refresh problem.

I like it.

getting things directly – news, reading

I still get a lot of news and unfiltered reading by means of RSS (the feeds) and Telegram messenger.

To get RSS feeds on desktop, the Thunderbird e-mail app and Vivaldi browser have a feed reader you can set up, or there are stand-alone apps. On mobile, there are apps, but I find many barely work.

Telegram is available for everything.

They keep me in the reading. Good ways to get things direct.

Direct e-mail subscriptions also good, but I get buried in that.

vivaldi and cnn

Totally a feature not a bug. Add MSNBC and we’re cooking with gas.

    I am unable to view any CNN videos using Vivaldi. I have disabled all extensions and also disabled the built in ad blocker. With the ad blocker disabled the ad video plays but the desired video does not. Brave browser had a similar issue that was fixed with a recent update.
