first complete book i ever read on an e-reader

I didn't used to like the idea of ebook readers. I like going to the public library for a physical copy, and I feel that the traditional format of a bound book is a rather perfect user interface.

More and more I find that some things I want to read are only available in a digital format, so I got the cheapest piece-of-s**t e-book reader I could find. At $29 I didn't expect much, but it works fine.

I rather like Cory Doctorow's novels, so I finished my first complete e-book tonight. at 550+ pages, Doctorow's book, Makers, took awhile.

Up next, some weird-ass fiction by H. P. Lovecraft. Get it all free right here.

BTW, I don't do DRM. There's more than enough unrestricted stuff out there to keep me busy forever.

  1. I just bought my first e-book on Kindle application purchased through Amazon. Book about Special Education advocacy. Font size is perfect. $9.95 good price.

I always look to you for guidance in this area whenever posts here or on FB touch upon this.Originally posted by operainchicago:

I like being able to bump up the font sizes for comfortable reading. My glasses work fine, but large fonts help. 10' out and further, everything is fine, but ya know we oldies can't focus close. I can still pass the drivers license vision without glasses. It's just distance.
