   I know hardly anything about these things, but I have a friend who I think is autistic. He shows off his mathematical ability at times, often by computing the gas mileage on his Toyota to many places to the right of the decimal, all in his head. He laughs when I exclaim, "GD!" He also warns me not to crack jokes with him that are laced with irony or double meaning. He says he has trouble getting them. He's a sweetie!

   yup, your friend has some of the characteristics of a person on the autism spectrum. "not that there's anything wrong with that!" 🙂
