I like to joke my way through life usually. It's my way of handling things. I like parody, sarcasm, irony, and satire. Sometimes I get serious. This post is.
I was in a nursing facility today helping someone. In the dining room I saw a picture of Barack Obama peering at me from the saddlebag of a motorized wheelchair. The owner of the picture was an elderly black woman, probably over eighty, maybe more. She wasn't up to much speech, but I gently asked her permission to take a photo. She granted it.
A lot of things can be said about the President and the USA, and rightfully so.
Sometimes it's just best to shut up, feel the moment, and reflect. I felt respect for the woman, her long life, and her decision to keep a picture of the President always nearby. It certainly wasn't the time to go, "but, but, but."
I feel the moment. Yes, definitely not time to put in the arguments against!
sarcasm and joking around seem to get me in the dog house a lot. Some people just need to lower their sensitivity and chill out :nervous:
