I watched two gory episodes of Law and Order SVU then fell asleep on the sofa with the dog all over me. During my 4-hour nap, I had a long vivid dream about making a Coke float, but in the dream, something was wrong with the ice cream so that pouring the Coke over it would make it disappear. I think I'll have to get some ice cream and some Coke now just to be sure the world is OK.
Have you ever had a Coke float? I think they are best with plain, even cheap, vanilla ice cream. Fancy ice cream ruins them. Some people make the floats with ginger ale or 7-Up, but I like Coke the best. I like the crunchy Coke ice bits that form around the ice cream.
It's a great summertime drink, but don't plan on doing much after drinking one as your eyes will roll back in your head and your stomach will turn into lead. They are, however, refreshing.

Gosh I had forgotten all about ice cream floats I used to get them from mr whippy the ice cream van man who came to our housing estate in 70's playing Green Sleeves out of his tanoy
i prefer root beer floats especially from Culvers 🙂

Have never had a coke float. When I was little, my dad used to take me to the local five and dime store (I guess they'd be the dollar stores now) where there was a great little soda counter in the back. He always got a root beer float and I got a small chocolate shake. Not sure why, but I never tried his root beer float.
