cleaning out the garage

Here's a garage that is so full that it has become useless. It's our stuff, plus things for other people, too. Both my current house and the one before it had large garages, so there has been little incentive to throw anything away. I was notorious for saying, "don't pay for storage, I have a large garage."

I'm hoping I will find some interesting things as I go through the belongings I have kept for others. The items span many decades, and the things that do not belong to me have either been abandoned by someone else or the person is deceased, so I can keep anything good that I find.

Though it doesn't look like that much stuff in the pictures, the garage is as long as a large car, so there really is a lot in there. Some of the more interesting finds will be posted in future blog entries.

  4. Funny you mention pink flamingos. I looked for some at a few second hand retro shops two weeks ago.

  5. Hmmmmm….how much for the little table and the lamp with the different colored shades in the second photo? πŸ˜† Nevermind….I already have five old lamps and seven little tables. That's why I put blinders on when I pass garage sales.

All from Target, Β‘muy baratos! The lamp goes with us when we go camping and there is electricity. We put it out front near the pink flamingos. :wizard:

  7. there are people that collect what you consider junk and make various things out of them or people collect things for their own personal collection .

Maybe you'll find a petrified squirrel. One time I raised the door and a very skinny crazed cat shot by me to freedom. I never saw it go in there, and the door had been down for about a week.

  10. awwww poor kitty, how would you like to get trapped in a garage? I know it would be scarrrrrry for me.You never know what lurks behind those doors

  11. There is the story about a cat sleeping under my hood. I turned the key in the morning, and ……. :ko:

  12. I had a cat with half an arm because he was in the engine of a car.the owners didnt want him so I took him in boy could he swing that half of arm at you when he wanted your attention!!!!

let the messy garage wars begin :ninja:

  14. The cat that died under the fan belt of my truck was a stray that the neighbors were feeding. I would have been pissed had that cat thrown the belt off the pulleys.

Just from the pics you've posted, it would be best if I just surrendered immediately.
