The rain took a break for a few minutes, so we went walking at the park. The park is my favorite, the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, known locally as just "Battleground." It's very peaceful and a great area for birding.
#1: My favorite trail, very serene. The city traffic almost cannot be heard from here.

It's really a good place. There are 3 parks side by side, so they seem to go on forever.The park mentioned in the post commemorates a battle that took place during the Revolutionary War. One day I was walking deeply in the park, and I spotted something red off in the distance. As I got closer, I saw that it was a British Redcoat and he appeared to be armed. I'm not into the supernatural really, but it did give me pause. I was hoping he was practicing for the occasional reenactments that are held there, and he was. *whew*
The Redcoat got me too! Scared me for a minute. I was wondering if I might need to swear allegiance to the Queen to get out of there.
