wikileaks collateral damage video

You've heard about this video, right? In case you were trying to find it, or hadn't heard, here it is. Right or wrong, things like this should be on the television every day instead of trite sensational celebrity coverage. You'd hardly know that there have been wars going on for years now by looking at TV. It's all so clean and tame. I find print journalism to be much better, though there are exceptions to print being good and TV being bad. By print I mean Internet, books, quality focused journalism magazines, really anything but the TV network nightly news. The world's most powerful ship is being piloted by the most mislead and uninformed populace there ever was. Can strong sunshine and journalism help?

  1. All I can say, the army consist of some heartless people!

  2. What a surprise. For decades the American armed forces worked to discover how to turn normal human beings into mindless killing machines. Now they've succeeded, and — what a surprise! — they mindlessly kill people.I hate the hypocrisy.

I have heard that unmanned drones are piloted by people at consoles in Nevada. So, you kiss your family bye in the morning, get stuck in traffic going to work, fly the drones all day killing a few people, drive home in heavy traffic, eat dinner, pass out in front of the TV.It seems….I can't even gather my thoughts on it.Getting back to the video, I watched the short version, and the radio dialogue doesn't surprise me. In fact, I think it's quite mild for a military operation. It does seem heartless, maybe even mindless. I guess this is one of the many soul-stealing costs of war.Anyway, regardless of what I think of it, we wouldn't even have to discuss it IF WE WEREN'T THERE TO BEGIN WITH. This was a Bush cabal designed war that rode in on a pack of lies and now Obama seems to want to out-Bush Bush.

I always like the words of John Quincy Adams, sixth pres of the US. He seems to sum up the situation pretty well. He delivered this speech to the U.S. House of Representatives on July 4, 1821, in celebration of American Independence Day:–(America) goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. She will commend the general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benign' sympathy of her example. She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom. The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force. She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit. –The added emphasis (bold) is mine.
